Medigap Plan G

The most bang for your buck. Plan G works just like Plan F, it simply doesn’t cover the once-a-year Part B deductible. In exchange, it has historically seen lower rate increases, making it the top choice for new enrollees.

What Plan G covers

After you meet the once-a-year Part B deductible, Plan G covers each of the following at 100% (foreign travel emergencies are covered at 80%, up to plan limits).

Covered at 100%

Medicare pays first; Plan G picks up the rest.
  • Part A deductible
  • Part B excess charges
  • Part A coinsurance & hospital costs (plus 365 extra days)
  • Part B coinsurance or copayments
  • First 3 pints of blood for an approved procedure
  • Skilled nursing facility coinsurance
  • 80% of foreign travel emergencies (up to plan limits)
Just like Plan F, minus the Part B deductible.
Plan G has historically experienced lower rate increases than its famous brother, the Plan F.
